His interest in design flourished and he graduated from The Parsons School of Design in New York and today specializes in both residential and commercial design applications. Miguel’s unique style of design is best described as traditional with a contemporary edge. His design also incorporates English and French influences.

In 1996, Miguel opened XYZ Total Home, a successful home interior boutique, which was a mainstay of New York’s Flatiron District for ten years.  In 2003, XYZ was awarded the Best East Atlantic Home Accent Specialty Store by the Dallas Design Center.
