Miguel Elias, New York based Interior Designer, has over 25 years experience in the design industry. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Miguel moved to New York City after obtaining a degree in Photo Journalism. His interest in design continued to flourish so he obtained his second degree from The Parsons School of Design in Manhattan. Today, Miguel specializes in both residential and commercial design applications. Miguel’s unique style of design is best described as traditional with a contemporary edge. His design also incorporates English and French influences.
Miguel has completed projects in New York, Princeton, Southampton, Dallas, Minneapolis, Seattle, Cuernavaca, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro and Paris.
Project scope includes overall design, space planning and collaboration and direction of architects, contractors, fabricators and landscape designers.
Miguel’s unique style of design and his hands-on approach with his work has garnered him various recognition and awards within the design industry, including Best Kitchen Design from Sub Zero for two consecutive years. He has participated in various design exhibits and benefits including The American Hospital of Paris French Designer Show house in New York and the “House and Garden” Color Show House. His work has also been recognized by major publications. Miguel has recently completed several major projects including a newly restored apartment in The Essex House on Central Park South.
Miguel spends his time between New York City, Southampton and South Beach.
